Beginning with the Audobon Society, founded to protect birds with precious plumage, the movement has been marked by passionate activists up against the intransigent forces of government and big business. Kitchell weaves together interviews with a wide range of activists with a rich archive of moving images, as he highlights a major battleground in each chapter.
