Hagglers Corner to get new lease of life
Date: 23/06/2011. Story submitted by: Ian Turgoose
A disused Sheffield factory is the subject of ambitious plans to create a new unique shopping experience.
Hagglers Corner on Queens Road has been empty for 10 years. However, developers have outlined a £200,000 plan to transform the 1871 building into a series of ‘little mester workshops, a café, a dance and theatre studio and a micro-brewery.
The vision is for a number of local small businesses to be based at the location, with their wares on offer through a large showroom at which shoppers could buy something a little different. When finished with the renovations the building will still be known as Hagglers Corner.
The plan is subject to planning approval from the Council, but anyone interested in a workshop can get in touch with the managers via hagglerscorner@yahoo.co.uk.
