As part of its Plotlines season, the Magic Lantern Film Club is showing the classic 1950 film, All About Eve.

The film is being shown upstairs at The Broadfield pub on Abbeydale Road on Sunday, April 29 from 7pm. It’s a multiple Oscar winner, fizzing with sparkling dialogue, and starring Bette Davis as an ageing theatre star who finds herself upstaged by a budding young starlet who she helped get her first break.

So if you want to see a film that examines issues of ambition, jealousy, loyalty and betrayal then this is one to see.

The Magic Lantern’s license only allows them to screen to members, but you can always join beforehand or on the night. Donations are very welcome for this free screening.
