Traffic chaos during school run

I was travelling down Thornbridge Drive at around ten past three, on Thursday, April 26.

I was amazed to see the total chaos ensuing in the area, as the amount of traffic caused the road to come to a standstill.

The problem is that now the school has no access from Hayfield Crescent, all the vehicles are parking on Thornbridge Drive and Thornbridge Avenue. Vehicles are parking half on the road and half on the grass verge, causing problems for vehicles such as buses to pass.

The problems are magnified by the closure of Hopefield Avenue and the detour taking in Thornbridge Drive.

The extra traffic and poorly parked vehicles from the school run came together to bring the area to a standstill.

This then encouraged reckless driving form people trying to get around two buses whose drivers were waiting for a suitable gap to appear.

If this happens on a daily basis, it will only be a matter of time before there is a bad accident.
