Don't forget that the Friends of the Botanical Gardens, Sheffield (FOBS) group is holding a special demonstration this morning.
'Easy Gardening' is for people who want to learn to do gardening on a budget.
Jane Quibell from the group told Postcode Gazette: "This is a free event. It's purpose is to show how gardening can be done on the cheap and is really for those starting out on gardening or those who have done a little bit of gardening but want to learn a few basic techniques or expand on what they grow.
"The Curator, Ian Turner, will be there to answer any questions and other members will be available to talk about specific topics such as weed control and green roofs.
"If people bring their secateurs to be sharpened they will be shown how to do it - and can either have a go at doing it themselves or one of our members will do it for them.
"There will be demonstrations of sewing seeds and taking cuttings including herbs and veg.
"There will be demonstrations of how to turn everyday objects into containers such as washing up bowls into containers for salad crops, polystyrene containers to use as alpine troughs and wicker baskets into containers for plants or veg and how to plant them up."
'Easy Gardening' will be held in the demonstration centre in the Botanical Garden's large greenhouse from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
"We see this as part of our educational remit to show people a few simple techniques and that gardening can be done on a limited budget, says Jane.
"It's targeted at adults not kids - although kids are very welcome to come along."
