The Ray of Hope charity hosted a tombola event in Hillsborough Precinct to raise money to support the parents of children with special needs.
The event, run by charity chair Susan Robinson, raised around £100 on Saturday alone. The tombola prizes were donated to the charity and were mainly soft toys.
Ray of Hope has been running for nearly ten years and have managed to raise over £250,00 to fund their support network for parents of children with special needs.
Joanne, a fundraiser who has been working with Ray of Hope for two years, explained that it's a group run by parents for parents: She said: "We take the parents and children swimming and to fun zones as part of the support network."
The charity is OFSTED and CRB checked and was winner of Sheffield's Nights of Honour Best Community Group award.
Susan Robinson said that the network is spider-webbed all over Sheffield, adding: "It helps parents to realise they are not alone.
"Sometimes parents walk into the groups and can feel like nobody knows how they feel, but we do and we can say to them sit down and have a coffee and a tissue, we've all been through it."
If anyone wants to get involved with Ray of Hope, their next meeting is on May 8 at Eskdale Community Centre, off Leppings Lane.
