Dearne firefighters tackle school play area blaze

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a Mexborough school, which they discovered while heading to a different fire.
Firefighters from Dearne station were going to a wheelie bin fire in Mexborough in the early hours of Wednesday when they saw a fire in an outside play area at Mexborough Windhill Junior and Infant School, Holllingworth Close.
A large amount of smoke had entered the school through a window so firefighters also ventilated the school.
The quick action by the fire crews meant that the school was saved from any serious fire damage.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
