Job-hunters wanting to gain a step up into managerial experience may be interested in making an application to The Salvation Army, who are currently recruiting an assistant manager.

Although the position is based at West Street in Hoyland, public transport is available via a direct bus route from Firth Park (Service 265).

The role is for 18 hours per week, at a pay scale of £6,243 per annum and involves managing the retail outlet at the above location.

Applicants must be friendly, enthusiastic and able to work on their own initiative.

They should have excellent communication skills, have previous retail or supervisory experience and be able to work within the Christian ethos of the Salvation Army.
