Detectives investigating an attempted child snatch in Staveley have released this image of the suspect.

It follows reports that a man in his 30s grabbed a 10-year-old girl as she walked through fields near to Circular Road on Monday, April 23.

Officers say the man tugged at the girl’s coat and pulled her a few metres towards the centre of the playing field. But the girl kicked the man in the shin, making him fall over and she ran off.

They have now released this image of the suspect, who is described as white and in his early 30s. He is between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall with short dark hair. He wore a white t-shirt, dark blue jeans and dark coloured shoes.
