Pupils at Westbourne School are having a day off from their everyday uniforms and lessons in honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Youngsters at the Broomhill independent junior school are jumping the wagon and having and an early Jubilee Day on Tuesday, May 22.

Getting into the royal spirit of the occasion, the children will be making Jubilee cup cakes and celebration hats for a competition that will be judged by a mystery red carpet guest.

There will also be a sale of Royal memorabilia organised by children taking part in the school’s St Luke’s Hospice Biz Kids challenge.

And making sure that a patriotic theme is maintained throughout the day, pupils will be swapping their usual uniform for anything they want to wear – so long as it’s coloured red white or blue.
