Disappointment hit the campaign to save Hurfield View dementia centre this week as a vote in Sheffield Town Hall to save the centres was defeated.

The vote took place on a Liberal Democrat motion to Wednesday’s Full Council meeting of Sheffield City Council. The motion, which called for Hurfield View and two other dementia care centres to be saved, was defeated by ruling Labour councillors.

The three centres under threat of closure, as a result of the Council’s budget are Bole Hill View in Crookes, Hurfield View in Arbourthorne, and Norbury in Burngreave.
