A co-operative group that runs community allotments in Sheffield is holding an open day at Rivelin Valley next weekend.

Members of 'Hillside Harvest' grow food to share amongst each other at allotments in the Rivelin Valley area.

Nick Rousseau from Hillside Harvest said there will be lots of things going on at the open day - including the hanging of the entrance signs, pond dipping, children's activities and discussions about what to do about pests.

"Why not come along to our next Hillside Harvest event and meet us? If you are interested in joining our venture and becoming a member (committing a lot of time or only a little,) we would love to speak to you."

The open day takes place this Saturday, June 23, at the allotments just off Rivelin Valley Road from 11am to 4pm.
