Fans desperate to see Pulp's homecoming show arrived in the early hours of the morning to queue for tickets.
The Sheffield band will play one night only at the Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, December 8. Their last show at the Arena was back in 1996.
Tickets went on sale on Friday morning and within 20 minutes, all the tickets in the standing area had been sold.
Around a dozen fans were queuing outside the Arena at 7.30am and by the time the box office opened it had swelled to around 30 people.
First in the queue were Cheryl Whyler from Firth Park and Jo Maw from Shiregreen. The pair are well used to waiting in line and once queued for two days for Oasis tickets.
Cheryl said: “We originally came at 1am but there was no queue so we went home. We came back up at 4am and there was still no queue so we went to the big Asda then came here at 5am.
“The next person in the queue was 5.20am.
“We’re not the world’s biggest fans of Pulp but we have really good memories of their music. We were gutted that we missed them in 1996.”
Jo said she was surprised the queue wasn’t bigger. “We have queued for hours to see Westlife, Boyzone and Morrissey and we’re usually the first in the queue.
“With Oasis we camped here for two days and by the time the tickets went on sale, it was horrendous, there will hundreds of people.
“We always get tickets standing at the front, it’s the only way to see bands.”
Also in the queue was Sal Cazzato and his girlfriend Cate Edgar, who live in the city centre.
Sal said: “I had to bribe Cate to come to queue and told her I will buy her a chair she wants for the bedroom.
“I missed them in 1996 but I love their music. I’ve seen ever band I’ve ever wanted to see apart from Pulp.”
