Former Olympic Games sprinter and London 2012 Torch-bearer Dorothy Hyman, from Barnsley, officially opens a day of family fun at Cudworth Park on Saturday, July 14.
At 11am, accompanied by the Crystal Lights Majorettes, Dorothy will carry her Olympic Torch as she leads a procession from the park entrance at Carlton Street to open the Cudworth Tea in the Park event at 11.15am.
Over the next four hours, visitors will be able to enjoy a fun-packed day featuring a bird of prey demonstration, a dog show, face-painting, an athletics taster session, funfair, stilt walker, colouring competition, and much more.
The family day has been organised by Cudworth Environment Community Group with help from local councillors and North East Area Partnership.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: "Money raised at the event will be reinvested in the event to help ensure it continues to run in future years."
