School children at a Sheffield International Venues summer camp were amongst the first to get a sneak peek inside Don Valley Stadium as final Sheftival preparations are put in place.
The children visited from the English Institute of Sport across the road to try their hand at Zumba, one of the activities on offer as part of the have-a-go initiative.
They took to the stage behind a massive television screen, which will show the Olympics throughout the festival.
Festival Director, Dave Healy, has just about recovered from the Tramlines weekend and has a few Sheftival favourites he is looking forward to.
“I think Toots and the Maytals will be very special and am looking forward to seeing them on Saturday night. To be honest I’m looking forward to the whole thing, being able to watch sport and music at the same time is completely different to what any festival goer is used to.”
Sheftival boasts eight stages and over 200 artists across Saturday, August 4 and Sunday, August 5. There will also be a whole host of sport materclasses for people to get involved in.
Dave said: “A lot of people don’t realise that one in seven of Team GB athletes have trained in Sheffield at some point in their career. This weekend really will be a great celebration of the Olympics.”
