The Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is set to benefit from shoppers at Ecclesall Road’s Waitrose, thanks to the supermarket’s Community Matter Scheme.
The scheme sees every Waitrose branch donate £1,000 between three local good causes as chosen by customers.
Customers then get to choose how the money is split by placing green tokens in the box of their chosen charity.
August sees the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust set to benefit from the scheme.
The educational and environment charity was first founded in 1979. Each year they provide learning and developmental experiences for over 10,000 children, many from disadvantaged background and young adults with disabilities and special needs.
The so-called classroom in the countryside provides a way for children and youngsters to get hands on at a working farm and better understand the environment.
They rely on charitable donations and fundraising to provide their service.
