The Lord Mayor of Sheffield has officially opened the latest pub in the Thornbridge brewery chain.
Coun John Campbell cut the ribbon to open the Cross Scythes pub on Derbyshire Lane, which has been closed for several weeks for refurbishment. The reopening marks a new partnership between
Thornbridge brewery and Punch Taverns.
Richard Woodward, Senior Regional Operations partner for Punch, who have invested £200k described the reopening as an “exciting new partnership with Thornbridge that will see the brewery’s cask beers be available in a free of tie 10 year agreement”.
Thornbridge’s Pubs Operations manager, Mike Pidgeon said: “The work carried out by Punch has been extensive and we are excited to be taking on the pub at this time. We have lots of plans to develop the Cross Scythes as a community hub and have been encouraged by the great response to the refurbishment from those living locally”
