Youngsters at Chaucer Business & Enterprise College have had a hand in developing a new fire service campaign to combat arson in Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue worked with pupils at the school to help develop a poster and advertising campaign, which hits the streets this week.
The campaign includes bus shelter adverts which feature the image of a teenager with his face horrifically burnt in a fire.
Firefighters hope the adverts will make youngsters think twice before setting fire to things like grass, rubbish and bins.
The fire service attends hundreds of incidents like this every year and deliberate fires make up 80% of all the fires SYFR tackles.
Diane Malpass, head of community safety, said: “Getting the views of young people is vital to make sure our poster campaigns work.
"The feedback the pupils gave us was vital in helping us to develop this campaign, providing us some fantastic insights into what youngsters think about deliberate fires.”
