Old School House Nursery kids raise £2,000 for good cause
Date: 25/09/2012. Story submitted by: Gael Stigant
Children from The Old School House Nursery Schools have raised more than £2,000 for a local charity.
The tots from both the Crosspool and Endcliffe nurseries raised the funds for Bluebell Wood through cake sales, toddle walks, sing-a-longs in the park, fancy dress parties, raffles and games.
Ann Clark, voluntary fundraiser for Bluebell Wood, said: “It is truly amazing that such little people have been able to raise such a staggering amount. We look forward to continuing our partnership with The Old School House Nursery Schools throughout 2012 and beyond.”
Stephanie Connelly, Principal of The Old School House Nursery Schools said: “We are delighted to present this cheque to our designated charity and look forward to working with Bluebell Wood in the future. We believe that it is vital that our children develop a sense of giving and social responsibility at a young age as part of their development.”
A cheque for £2,215.91 has been presented to the children’s hospice, which offers care and support to youngsters with a shortened life expectancy.
