Four brave gym-goers stretched out their muscles this weekend to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Sarah Butler, Aisling Goodbody and husband and wife Scotty and Annaliese Reynolds made up Team Burpee as they took on the 500 burpee gym challenge.

After gathering sponsorship, the foursome took to the floor mat to complete the lactic acid fuelled challenge completing all 500 in an impressive 50minutes.

Scotty, who originally thought up the challenge, said afterwards: “Team burpee smashed it today with 500 burpees in 50mins, what an amazing bunch. My legs are cramping up like hell, just sprayed magnesium on them and it's burning.”

As well as this challenge the fitness centre also hosted their first ever Christmas Fayre and invited independent local traders to showcase their products and services.

Gluten, dairy and refined sugar free cakes and buns were also on sale to raise funds and promote the Prime Mover healthy living plan.

A healthy £1,011.31 was raised in total, with all funds being donated to kidsncancer.
